Brazil’s National Monetary Council ruled that derivatives tied to non-financial events cannot be treated as financial products, according to the report. The report says authorities also instructed ANATEL to block prediction-market websites and are restricting payments to and from the services.
The measures remove routes for prediction-market platforms to operate and receive payments in Brazil.

Arkansas has sued Kalshi in Independence County Circuit Court, alleging that its event contracts amount to gambling offered to residents without a state licence. The complaint seeks consumer restitution, civil penalties, taxes and an injunction; the amounts have not been determined, and the allegations have not been assessed by a judge. Kalshi has not publicly responded to this complaint.

US District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley granted a preliminary injunction in Blue Lake Rancheria v. Kalshi in California on Wednesday. The order bars Kalshi from offering sports contracts on the plaintiff tribes’ lands and requires the tribes to provide boundary maps by 13 November; Kalshi must report its compliance steps within 21 days.
A San Francisco federal judge has blocked Kalshi from listing sports event contracts on land belonging to the California tribes that are suing it. Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley, who sits in the Northern District of California, granted the tribes a preliminary injunction on Wednesday in the case Blue Lake Rancheria v. Kalshi.
