BOS opposes proposed Swedish online bonus ban backed by Svenska Spel and ATG
Svenska Spel and ATG have proposed ending all online bonuses for licensed gambling operators in Sweden. BOS secretary general Gustaf Hoffstedt said the ban would not address concerns about under-18s gambling and argued it could benefit the two operators by shrinking the licensed market and pushing players towards unlicensed sites.
A ban could change licensed operators’ ability to offer bonuses and, BOS argues, shift players towards unlicensed gambling sites.
