Betting companies warn Brazilian clubs of possible sponsorship exits

Deals & M&A

Betting companies notified some Brazilian football clubs that sponsorship contracts could end if the federal government imposes a ban on online betting, according to the report. Superbet contacted São Paulo and Fluminense, while Esportes da Sorte sent a notice to partner clubs including Corinthians, which confirmed receipt; Betano had discussed possible termination with Flamengo but had not formally notified the club.

A ban could trigger termination of sponsorship agreements between betting operators and Brazilian clubs.
