Belgium's Gaming Commission urged responsible betting ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, citing nearly 500,000 active accounts on licensed betting websites. The Commission said sports betting accounts for 86% of betting gross gaming revenue, with three-quarters of that tied to football, and identified 25 licensed sports betting websites.
