Belgian Council of State suspends Napoleon Games’ Brussels casino licence award

Regulation

Belgium’s Council of State suspended the 15-year Brussels casino licence awarded to Napoleon Games after current operator Viage challenged the decision. The court found shortcomings in the award procedure, including its reasoning and compliance with European rules; the City of Brussels is examining its next steps, while the existing licence expires on 31 December.

The suspension leaves the city to reconsider the casino award while the current licence approaches expiry.
