Australian analysis estimates proposed ad reforms would cut wagering spend by 0.8%
An Office of Impact Analysis report estimates Australia’s proposed gambling advertising reforms would reduce annual wagering expenditure by AUD62.7m, or 0.8%. The measures include limits on television and radio advertising, restrictions on celebrity promotions and a requirement for online platforms to verify users are adults, logged in and able to opt out; the government is expected to introduce legislation to parliament.
The proposed limits would change advertising conditions across wagering, media and digital platforms.
