In brief
Betsson has obtained an online poker licence in France from the Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ). The authorisation allows Betsson France to offer online poker to players in the country and to take part in shared liquidity with Italy, Spain and Portugal.
The ANJ's college adopted the decisions on 15 October. In that session the regulator approved both the licence and the company's entry into the shared poker liquidity framework across the four European markets. The following day the French authority also approved Betsson France's poker software.
The documents published by the ANJ do not identify the technology provider. Betsson has confirmed that its offer will run on Playtech's iPoker platform. Joining shared liquidity will let French players compete at common tables with users from Spain, Italy and Portugal.
