Alberta launches regulated online gambling market with 50 registered operators
Alberta launched its regulated online casino and sportsbook market on 13 July, with 50 operators registered through Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis. The Alberta iGaming Corporation oversees the market; the government estimates that 70% of gambling in the province currently goes through offshore websites.
The regulated market gives operators a route to serve Alberta customers as the province seeks to shift gambling away from offshore websites.
