Alberta launches regulated commercial iGaming market with 10 companies

Licences & markets

Alberta launched its regulated commercial iGaming market this week, according to Canadian Gaming Association president and chief executive Paul Burns. Burns said 10 companies launched 22 sites on day one, with another 25 operators seeking licences; the province set a first-year channelisation target of 70%.

Alberta’s launch and channelisation target give operators and regulators a benchmark for moving players into the regulated market.
