AIGAMING issued a statement on 26 October recognising the re-election of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin, and calling for a solution to Provisional Measure No. 1,394. The measure, issued on 25 September 2026, prohibited the operation, offering, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds betting across Brazil, according to the association's statement.

AIGAMING said the impacts of the measure should be reassessed and that alternatives should be debated. The association argued that prohibition does not remove demand but moves it to clandestine operators that are not subject to supervision. It said a regulated market would generate employment, attract investment, increase tax revenue and allow consumer protection and responsible gambling measures to be applied.

The association listed recognition of fixed-odds betting as a legitimate economic segment among its priorities, alongside a balanced and predictable regulatory environment. It said it would pursue dialogue with the new government and with the National Congress on the measure, and offered to contribute proposals combining responsibility, legal certainty and economic development, with clear rules for operators and effective supervision.

The statement also congratulated defeated candidate Flávio Bolsonaro on his campaign and acknowledged his contribution to the democratic debate on the country's future. AIGAMING said it hoped the new mandate would bring opportunities, investment and dignity to Brazilians.
