AGCO outlines Ontario rules for liquor sales through hotel minibars

Regulation

Source: AGCO (Ontario)

Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) says liquor sales licence holders can apply for a minibar endorsement for rooms rented for overnight stays beside licensed premises. Guests must serve themselves; access must be locked and restricted to people aged 19 or older, and the minibar must also contain non-alcoholic drinks. The endorsement is free, and sales records must be kept for one year.

Hotels and other eligible operators must meet access controls and record-retention requirements to sell alcohol through minibars.
