The AGCO said Ontario branches of the Royal Canadian Legion will receive full rebates on liquor sales licence application and renewal fees from 1 July 2026. The rebate covers eligible fees paid on or after 1 April 2026, with refunds issued automatically within two to four weeks after approval.
Eligible Legion branches can recover the full cost of liquor sales licence applications and renewals.

The AGCO Board has approved multiple training courses to support grocery store licensees, according to the regulator. Further information is available through its Responsible Liquor Sale, Service and Delivery Training programme.
Ontario’s AGCO says inspectors can check grocery stores for compliance with liquor laws, including rules on sales to minors or intoxicated customers, trading hours and LCBO sourcing. Violations may lead to a warning, monetary penalty, suspension or licence revocation; a holder has 15 days to request a hearing before the Licence Appeal Tribunal after receiving a monetary penalty order.
Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) guidelines set advertising requirements for General and Affiliate Delivery Licence holders, among other permit holders and licensees. Advertising outside the permitted scope may lead to a cessation order or other compliance or enforcement action, and licensees are responsible for authorised advertising that carries their identification.
Ontario’s government amended liquor licensing regulations, with changes taking effect on 1 July 2026, the AGCO said. The rules allow grocery and eligible convenience store licensees to transfer liquor between certain affiliated stores and deliver from warehouses; convenience store licensees need at least 20 licences to use the warehouse-delivery permission. Existing delivery licences will become General Delivery Licences without requiring reapplication.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) says people in specified liquor sales, service, sampling and delivery roles in Ontario must hold valid training certificates. Certificates must be renewed every five years; the AGCO has approved retail, delivery and Smart Serve training programmes for different roles.
