Italy's ADM plans to convene a technical working group with online licence holders so that player protection guidance drawn up by the authority is studied and adopted, the authority's director of gaming, Mario Lollobrigida, said at an event in Rome on 14 October 2026.
Lollobrigida said ADM offices had already worked on guidelines setting out what the authority expects from online licence holders on protecting players within their IT systems. He said the aim is for the guidance to be adopted by all of them.
On responsible gambling communication, Lollobrigida said the government commission had finished its work and that the 2026 programme document had already been sent to licence holders so they can begin examining which campaigns to run on the basis of those ideas. He also referred to AGCOM guidelines.
He said ADM would seek to set directions for licence holders and that it would welcome a joint campaign by all of them, possibly with input from third-sector organisations. He added that attention to responsible gambling should not remain a technical constraint or a spending obligation, which he said would be reductive, but should become a shared concept.
