Italy’s Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli awarded the Italy Lotto operating licence to the Brightstar-led LottoItalia consortium, which includes Allwyn, Arianna 2001 and Novomatic Italia. Brightstar said it had signed an agreement to run the lottery for nine years, through November 2034.
The award sets the operating arrangement for Italy Lotto through November 2034.

The National Audit Office has opened an investigation into the Gambling Commission’s design and award of the fourth National Lottery licence, as well as the transition and implementation, according to the report. The inquiry is due to conclude by spring 2027 and will examine lessons for the licence through to 2034 and future tenders.
Reportedly, Instant Win Gaming has agreed a six-year contract with Michigan Lottery. The agreement runs to July 2032, extending a relationship that began in 2016. IWG supplies eInstant games through its InstantRGS platform.
Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation signed a contract with the Wisconsin Lottery to provide its OMNIA lottery solution, Brightstar said. The agreement has an eight-year base term, an eight-year extension option and four further one-year extension options. Brightstar will also enhance the lottery’s mobile app and supply retailer terminals and vending equipment.
Allwyn UK is restructuring its leadership, creating social impact, marketing and digital roles while phasing out three executive positions, the company said. Alastair Ruxton will become Director of Social Impact, Stephen Taylor will start as interim Chief Marketing Officer on 17 November, and recruitment for the Chief Digital Officer role is ongoing. Mark Smith will remain as a technology strategy adviser until June 2027; Richard Dawkins and Sarah Venning will also leave the company.
The company is adding three senior positions: a Director of Social Impact, a Chief Marketing Officer and a Chief Digital Officer. Under the restructuring, three C-level positions will be removed.
Francesco Rodano, Group Head of Responsible Gaming, said AI systems can identify online players at risk of developing problematic gambling behaviour weeks or, in some cases, months in advance. He said the systems analyse player histories, assign daily risk scores from zero to one hundred and can guide tailored interventions, including contact from trained staff.
