Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) named Antonio Giuliani to lead its remote gaming and betting office and Elisabetta Poso to head its amusement machines office. The appointments followed a management selection procedure launched with a notice on 28 May, and ADM published the results.
The appointments determine leadership of two ADM offices overseeing gaming activities in Italy.

The European Parliament estimates a proposed online gambling tax could raise €3.9bn a year, according to MEP Danuše Nerudová. The report says the European Commission’s estimate is €1.9bn and reports opposition from several member states; Italy’s ADM online and betting director said agreement on an EU tax or harmonisation was currently impossible.
ADM official Antonio Giuliani said the 13 November deadline for online concessionaires to move to the new gambling system remains in place. He said ADM aims to certify each concessionaire’s full system, including interactions between its components.

ADM has published communication protocols for betting concessionaires, remote gambling operators and bingo. The notices, all dated 5 August 2026 and signed by Antonio Giuliani of the remote gambling and betting office, accompany technical documents due to take effect in the first week of September.
