Accel Entertainment said it is assessing whether to bring its distributed gaming business to Chicago if the city regulates video gaming terminals at licensed venues. Accel Entertainment said its subsidiary Toucan Gaming acquired the assets of Rice Palace Inc. and South Louisiana Gaming Inc., which own and operate the Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino in Crowley, Louisiana. The deal adds 50 video gaming devices; Accel and Toucan plan to raise the site’s capacity to 60, while financial terms were not disclosed.
Analysts discussed the proposed Fertitta Entertainment acquisition of Caesars, announced on Thursday, and its potential effects on casino operators. J.P. Morgan’s Daniel Politzer raised questions about financing, possible divestitures and shareholder approval, while CBRE’s John DeCree said the sector could see further leveraged and management buyouts.

The Roundhill Sports Betting & iGaming ETF rose nearly 3% last week, while the S&P 500 fell, according to the report. Codere Online shares gained 10.13%, and Accel Entertainment shares rose 7.3%; the report said neither move followed new company news that week. Accel had announced its acquisition of Dynasty Games’ route-operation assets on 2 December, without disclosing financial terms.
Citizens analyst Jordan Bender initiated coverage of Accel Entertainment with a market outperform rating, the report said. Bender set a $13 price target, implying nearly 24% upside from current levels, and cited the company’s balance sheet and potential growth opportunities.
