Abodi calls for sports event organisers to share betting revenues in Italy
Italy’s Sports Minister Andrea Abodi told a Senate hearing on football reform that sports event organisers should receive a share of betting revenues. He cited ADM data stating that Serie A accounts for 19% of betting, and said he was discussing the issue with the Ministry of Economy and Finance; he also called for action against illegal betting and gambling addiction.
The proposal could affect how betting revenue and sports data value are allocated between operators and event organisers.
