GGL calls for more adaptable gambling rules as regulated share reaches 77%
Germany’s Joint Gambling Authority of the Federal States (GGL) called for rules that can respond faster to changes in online gambling, as it marked its fifth anniversary. The authority cited a study estimating that 77% of the online market is regulated and said the review of the 2021 Interstate Treaty on Gambling offers an opportunity to make regulation more flexible.
The GGL’s call for more flexible rules may influence Germany’s review of its gambling treaty.
