- Delly Sesanga proposes taxing gambling GGR instead of player winnings in DRC
Democratic Republic of the Congo opposition politician Delly Sesanga called on 4 September for the government to replace the 10% tax on players’ winnings with a tax based on operators’ gross gaming revenue. He also urged stronger operator identification and enforcement against illegal activity, and questioned how the government’s estimate of a gambling sector worth more than US$1.6bn was measured.
