- Piauí audit court warns municipalities against creating lotteries
Piauí’s Court of Accounts said municipalities should not create, regulate or operate lotteries, and urged local authorities to suspend ongoing lottery procurement procedures. The unanimous warning cited a pending Supreme Federal Court case and said potential nullity and sanctions could follow if the court rules against municipal lottery laws.
