- Washington, D.C. councilmember proposes iGaming legalisation and sweepstakes ban
Washington, D.C. Councilmember Wendell Felder introduced legislation to legalise online casino gaming and prohibit dual-currency sweepstakes games in the district. The proposal would set a 25% tax on gross iGaming revenue, a $2 million licence fee and a minimum player age of 21; the Office of Lottery and Gaming would oversee the market. It would also allow civil penalties of up to $100,000 per violation, according to the bill text.
