Wildz Group says it has received Finland online gambling licence

Wildz Group said it has received an online gambling licence in Finland, which would allow the Malta-based operator to run online gambling when the country's regulated market opens next year. The company said Altenar, its sportsbook technology partner since 2024, will support its entry into the market.

Wildz Group chief executive Sam Brown said the market is expected to open in July 2027. He said Altenar had been central to the company's global sports betting offering and that the operator expected a strong response in Finland once the market opens.

Dinos Stranomitis, Altenar's chief operating officer, described Finland's shift to a competitive online gambling market as a significant industry development. In his view, a company moving into a newly regulated jurisdiction needs suitable technology, adaptability and solid knowledge of local rules. He added that Altenar is backing Wildz Group's launch with sportsbook technology built to suit varying market conditions and business goals.

Finland is one of the most recent European nations to swap a state monopoly for a licensing system covering online gambling. Operators showed considerable interest when the application window opened on 1 March 2026, before the market's planned launch.
