VNLOK says unlicensed operators drove most Dutch gambling ads on Meta

Regulation

Dutch trade association VNLOK said 93.7% of gambling advertisements on Facebook and Instagram in June 2026 came from unlicensed operators, following a 96.5% share in May. The group said Meta removed 11% of more than 60,000 illegal ads it identified in May and 15% in June, and called for advertiser checks before campaigns run.

The figures indicate that licensed operators’ advertising is competing with a high volume of ads VNLOK attributes to unlicensed operators.
