Virginia Senate committee advances amended online casino bill
Virginia’s Senate General Laws and Technology Committee approved a revised version of SB118 on 28 January and sent it to the Finance and Appropriations Committee. The proposal would require the Virginia Lottery Board to set problem-gambling rules and would impose player-protection measures on operators; it also sets a 15% tax on adjusted gross internet gaming revenue.
Operators would face new player-protection duties and a proposed 15% tax if the bill becomes law.
