UK government raises remote gaming duty to 40% from April 2026

Regulation

The UK government’s Budget sets remote gaming duty at 40% from April 2026, up from 21%, according to the reported Budget documents. The changes also abolish bingo duty and include a 25% general betting duty from 2027; the Office for Budget Responsibility expects the package to raise £1.1 billion annually by 2029–30.

The reported duty increase changes UK remote gaming costs, while bingo duty is abolished and general betting duty rises later.
