UK Gambling Commission sets out AML priorities and July risk assessment
The UK Gambling Commission said it will intensify anti-money-laundering supervision and publish a gambling-sector money-laundering and terrorist-financing risk assessment in July. At the Gambling Anti-Money Laundering Group conference on 10 June 2026, enforcement director John Pierce also highlighted weaknesses in applying risk procedures and said the Commission expects technology used for compliance to demonstrate its effectiveness.
Operators should review AML controls and show that compliance technology works as the Commission intensifies supervision.
