UK Gambling Commission reports £60.3m costs after lottery licence litigation
The UK Gambling Commission reported operating costs of £60.3m for 2024-25, up from £40.4m in the previous year, according to its annual report published on 7 January. It said £14.2m went on legal fees, including £13.4m defending claims by unsuccessful National Lottery licence bidder The New Lottery Company. The Commission is defending two claims, with the trial beginning in October 2025.
