UK Gambling Commission allocates £26m to tackle illegal gambling sites
The UK Gambling Commission said it will use an additional £26m to expand enforcement teams and improve detection of unlicensed gambling sites targeting UK consumers. The plan includes recruiting specialist staff and investing in technology; the Commission is also preparing to use court-backed domain blocking measures.
The funding and proposed blocking measures could increase enforcement pressure on unlicensed sites serving UK consumers.
