The UAE General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority has appointed Ahmad Hesham as general counsel and board secretary. The regulator said he brings more than 25 years of legal, regulatory and public policy experience across multiple jurisdictions.
The appointment adds legal and regulatory experience to the UAE commercial gaming regulator’s leadership.

Reportedly, EGBA has named senior director Pierre Tournier interim secretary general from 1 September. He succeeds Maarten Haijer, who leaves after 13 years in the role. Tournier joined EGBA in November 2025 and previously held senior positions at the Betting and Gaming Council and Remote Gambling Association.

Senegal’s Presidency announced Abdourahmane Baldé’s appointment as director general of the Senegalese National Lottery, replacing Toussaint Manga, after a Council of Ministers meeting on 1 July. Manga said LONASE recorded CFA19 billion in net profit in 2025 and generated more than CFA90 billion for the state between October 2025 and June 2026. Baldé said he would focus on operational performance and the lottery’s contribution to the country’s development.
Benin’s National Lottery (LNB SA) appointed Marius Adanzounon as director general, and he took office on 16 June after a handover from outgoing chief Gaston Zossou, according to the report. Board chair Sarah Kpénou said the lottery’s next phase would focus on digitalisation and management modernisation.
