Enforcement & compliance

Turkey’s National Lottery Administration (MPI) reported that it identified 84,585 illegal gambling and betting sites operating from 70 countries. The assessment says authorities ordered about 535,000 related sites blocked, while 11 organisations were made to cease operations and four lost operating licences. Vice-president Cevdet Yılmaz put the illegal betting market’s value at between 20 and 60 billion dollars.

MPI’s reported site identifications, blocking orders and licence actions indicate extensive enforcement against illegal gambling.
