The TAR Calabria will hear on 21 October 2026 a company’s challenge to the Questura of Cosenza’s refusal of a betting licence. The court did not rule on the request to suspend the refusal, deciding instead that the case should proceed quickly to a full hearing.
The licence applicant must wait for the merits hearing while the refusal remains unsuspended.

Italy’s Council of State granted an interim request on 27 August 2026 in a dispute over a licence to install VLT machines in Padua. It suspended the refusal while the court considers whether the application concerns a new venue, subject to regional distance limits, or continuation of an existing business; the appeal hearing is set for 3 December 2026.
The TAR Puglia rejected an applicant’s request to suspend the Questura’s refusal of a public-security licence for a betting business in Taranto province, in an order filed on 23 July 2026. The court said the purchase contract’s three-month licensing condition had already expired and found the applicant’s arguments about reliability and possible loss of a concessionaire relationship insufficient at this interim stage.
The Regional Administrative Court of Puglia rejected an urgent request to suspend the refusal of a public-security licence for betting operations. The court said the matter would receive a fuller hearing at a session scheduled for 22 July; it did not decide the merits of the underlying appeal at this stage.
The Regional Administrative Court of Tuscany temporarily suspended the part of a Livorno police decree that halted a betting shop’s licence for 10 days. The order does not affect the requirement to remove 11 gaming machines, and the court will consider the case at a hearing on 3 September 2026.
Bolzano’s Regional Administrative Court temporarily suspended the expiry of a sports and horse-racing betting licence after the concessionaire sought urgent protection from the municipality’s decision. The court’s 10 June decree allows operations to continue until a panel hearing on 7 July; it noted the outlet employs seven workers. The interim order does not decide the dispute’s merits.
