Suntrust considers PAGCOR accreditation as part of positive-equity plan

Suntrust said it may seek Gaming System Administrator accreditation from PAGCOR for a relevant project entity in the Philippines. The company said the application’s financial impact and timetable are not yet known, and listed possible bond conversions, additional fundraising and Westside’s planned third-quarter 2026 opening among other measures to restore positive equity.

A potential accreditation could enable Suntrust’s project entity to enter the Philippines’ online gaming sector.

PAGCOR expects decoupling recommendation to reach president in August

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations was expected to submit a recommendation on separating PAGCOR’s regulatory and casino-operating functions in August. Tengco said the Office of the President would study the proposal, with an executive order expected by the end of the year; PAGCOR also expects gaming activity to improve in the second half of 2026.
