Spillemyndigheden supports player claim as Supreme Court takes Danish deposit case

Regulation

Denmark’s Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a case on 10 March 2027 over player funds held by bankrupt operator DK Gambling ApS, according to Spillemyndigheden. The regulator has permission to intervene in support of the player, whose claim succeeded in the High Court after the bankruptcy trustee refused payment. The regulator also reported that Jackpotbet A/S entered bankruptcy proceedings on 18 June 2026 and its Danish online casino and betting licences lapsed.

The Supreme Court’s ruling could determine whether gambling-account balances are protected from an operator’s bankruptcy creditors.
