Miles Luft joined Spiel-Börse Goslar in 2025 as the representative of the fourth generation of the family business. The company was founded in 1956 and today operates three arcades and four gastronomy installations in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, the outlet reported.
The outlet reported that founder Willi Effner had placed a billiard table in his first arcade in Goslar, and that billiard tables have remained a tradition in the company's arcades. Luft, aged 27, told games & business that his father, Henry Effner, had already done the largest part of the work.
Luft said the company had established good contacts with local politics and that people knew the business as ordinary merchants. He said Spiel-Börse Goslar sponsors its football club and seeks dialogue in advance rather than only when problems arise, and that it had founded a meeting round for operators.
Reportedly, the issues Luft cited as occupying him include the amusement tax, illegal gambling and declining pub culture. The outlet said he also discussed the two states in which the company operates and business ideas he considers promising, in its October edition.
