South Korean police arrest 2,319 in seven-month illegal gambling operation
South Korea’s National Police Agency said it arrested 2,319 people in 1,746 cases during a seven-month operation against cyber gambling that began in November 2025. Police said they seized KRW107.2bn in criminal proceeds, about two and a half times the amount seized in the same period a year earlier. The operation also targeted major site operators and people suspected of supplying technology for illegal gambling sites.
The operation targets illegal gambling networks and technology suppliers, relevant to enforcement risks for businesses linked to those services.
