South Korea report says teenagers bypass Sports Toto age restrictions

Regulation

Teenagers have placed bets through South Korea’s Sports Toto online platforms despite the system’s age restriction, a media report said. The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, which oversees Sports Toto, says only residents aged 19 or older may bet; accounts have a daily limit of 100,000 won. Korea Sports Leisure said it would offer whistleblowers rewards of up to 200 million won for reports including illegal sportsbook activity.

The reported access methods raise compliance and age-verification concerns for South Korea’s sole legal sports betting platform.

The survey interviewed 2,004 people from 30 October to 2 November.
