South Gyeongsang police open youth gambling amnesty through 30 June
South Gyeongsang police have invited residents under 19 to report gambling offences by 30 June, with police saying eligible young people may receive leniency and addiction recovery guidance. Separately, South Korea’s Supreme Court Sentencing Commission approved guidelines due to take effect on 1 July, recommending prison terms of 10 months to two years for general cases involving unlicensed casino operators and 18 months to four years for more serious offences.
Young people may receive leniency and recovery guidance for reported gambling offences, while new guidelines address sentencing for unlicensed casino operators.
