SGLA urges Florida to legalise sweepstakes casinos, citing $70m annual revenue
The Social Gaming Leadership Alliance is advocating for Florida to legalise and regulate sweepstakes casinos, citing an economic-impact report prepared for the group by Eilers & Krejcik Gaming. The report estimates the state could collect more than $70 million a year through licence fees and a 6% tax on player purchases. Florida’s constitutional rules and the Seminole compact are cited as barriers to the proposal.
Any move to regulate sweepstakes casinos in Florida would affect operators’ licensing and tax exposure, but faces legal barriers.
