San Agustín del Guadalix has set a separation requirement for gambling venues under its urban planning rules, according to the published text of the municipality's General Plan. Article 175.10 of the planning rules requires gambling venues to be located more than 200 metres from the listed facilities. The full plan was published on 28 October, after its final approval had been announced in the bulletin of 15 June 2026.
The 200-metre buffer applies to educational and cultural centres, health centres, social assistance services, sports facilities, youth leisure spaces and municipal institutional buildings. It also covers plots and land earmarked for public facilities that have not yet been built on. The distance is measured as a 200-metre radius centred on the midpoint of the venue's facade at its main access point.
The provision expressly covers recreational gaming rooms, betting shops, gaming halls, bingo halls, casinos and other establishments where gambling takes place. The text also states that the municipal council may regulate and limit the opening hours of these businesses.
The restrictions are drafted for the establishment of venues, and the provision does not expressly set out retroactive application to existing premises.
