Regulation

Roy Morgan research estimates that more than 3.3 million Australians experience some form of gambling harm. Its survey found 13% experience harm from their own gambling and a further 5.4% from another person’s gambling; the report also describes proposed advertising restrictions due to take effect in January next year.

The estimates inform operators and policymakers about the reported scale and sources of gambling harm in Australia.
