Rio Grande do Norte sets anti-money laundering rules for lottery operators

Regulation

Rio Grande do Norte’s Finance Secretariat (Sefaz-RN) issued rules requiring lottery operators to adopt controls against money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The measures include customer identification, suspicious-transaction reporting and record retention for at least five years; the portaria takes effect 30 days after publication, with inspection and sanctions rules starting on 1 June 2026.

Lottery operators in the state must implement specified compliance controls and prepare for enforcement from June.
