Former Italian senator Riccardo Pedrizzi said the government’s planned reform of land-based public gaming could remain incomplete without addressing local rules on gaming venues. He cited the 29 August deadline for the tax-delegation measures and said existing concessions are due to expire on 21 December. Pedrizzi also pointed to concerns over market concentration and a reported 13.3% rise in suspicious-transaction reports in gaming and betting.

Unresolved local venue rules could leave Italy’s planned gaming reform incomplete and affect concession tenders.
