Regulus analyst questions UK operators' tax mitigation plans
A Regulus Partners analyst said mitigation measures announced by major UK operators in response to tax increases would be insufficient, according to the report. The changes are scheduled to raise remote gaming duty to 40% from 1 April 2026 and general betting duty to 25% from 2027; reported mitigation figures include 37% for Flutter, 25% for Entain and 50% for evoke in FY27.
The assessment challenges operators' expected ability to offset higher UK gambling duties through cost reductions and other measures.
