Putin’s office leaves Russian online casino proposal undecided
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on 2 February that Russia’s proposal to legalise and regulate online casinos had not been decided. Finance Minister Anton Siluanov has asked Vladimir Putin to lift the ban by decree; the proposal includes a 30% tax on operator revenues after payouts and an estimated 100 billion rubles in annual state revenue.
Operators and regulators face uncertainty over whether Russia will replace its online casino ban with a regulated market.
