Puerto Rico gaming operators sue over alleged licence application delays

Licences & markets

Around 30 gaming-machine operators filed a complaint in San Juan against the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, alleging that it refuses to accept, process or decide their licence applications. Their lawyer said the commission is reorganising the sector and plans to issue up to 25,000 licences for machines previously operating outside the law.

The lawsuit challenges whether the commission is processing applications as gaming-machine operators seek entry into the regulated market.
