Pinheirinho proposes directing half of Brazil betting tax revenue to hospitals
Brazilian federal deputy Pinheirinho introduced Bill No. 2.476/2026, proposing that 50% of tax revenue from regulated online betting go to philanthropic hospitals and Santa Casas. The proposal would prioritise healthcare units serving SUS patients and restrict the funds to treatment, medicines, supplies and hospital infrastructure; if enacted and signed, the executive branch would have 90 days to regulate the process.
The proposal could change how betting-tax revenue is allocated and impose new conditions on its use.
