PhilWeb chief says Philippine online gaming growth depends on final rules
PhilWeb president Brian Ng said the Philippines’ online gaming outlook depends on the final form of pending legislation and its regulatory framework. He said PAGCOR’s minimum guaranteed fee for accredited gaming system administrators is due to take effect on 1 June after a two-month deferral, and estimated that 15 to 20 of 65 providers generate 80% of sector gross gaming revenue.
Operators and system administrators face uncertainty over legislation and a new fee regime that Ng says could consolidate the market.
