PG Soft launches Norse-themed slot Thunder Reckoning

PG Soft has released Thunder Reckoning, a Norse mythology-themed video slot, the company announced. The game is played on a 5x6 grid with cascading reels.

Eight or more matching symbols in any position on the reels form a prize, after which the winning symbols explode and new symbols fall from above. Each win marks the grid: a first win partially activates a position and a second win fully activates it. Adjacent fully activated positions merge into larger blocks, starting at 2x2 and reaching up to 5x5. If every position on the reels is fully activated, the whole grid merges into a single 5x6 block.

When the cascades end, the Prize Symbols feature turns each fully activated position into a prize symbol the size of the block formed. A single prize symbol pays 0.25x to 1x the stake; a 2x2 pays 5x to 10x; a 3x3 pays 20x to 200x; and a 4x4 pays 50x to 500x. A 5x5 prize symbol is worth 200x to 1,000x, while filling the entire 5x6 grid awards 1,000x to 5,000x the stake.

Three scatter symbols trigger the Free Rounds feature with 10 free rounds, plus two more for each additional scatter. The grid starts with all positions already partially activated, and all progress made by players remains until the end of the round. The Prize Symbols feature is then triggered after the last free round, and the feature can be reactivated. Players can use the Feature Buy option to enter the Free Rounds feature for the price displayed on screen. The maximum win in Thunder Reckoning is 5,000x the stake.

Hugo Baungartner, LatAm general manager at PG Soft, said the company hopes players will take to the game when they have the chance to try it. He said each win lights up more of the grid, so a large prize symbol can be seen taking shape before it pays, and that the free rounds are where the game opens up because nothing is reset and the whole board can end up filled.

The game is set on the frozen top of a mountain surrounded by ruined stone columns, with a red-haired warrior raising his hammer as lightning crosses the sky.
