Peru closes six illegal betting and slot venues in Lambayeque and Huánuco
Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, through its casino and gaming machines directorate, closed six illegal gambling venues in Lambayeque and Huánuco, the ministry said. Officials seized 32 slot machines in Chiclayo and 12 machines and 41 computers used for unauthorised online sports betting in Leoncio Prado. The ministry said it had ordered the closure of 19 illegal sports betting venues and 14 clandestine slot halls so far in 2026.
The closures remove unauthorised betting and slot operations, including machines identified as intended for minors.
