Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro appointed Maria D. Quiñones Sánchez to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on 14 January 2026. The board said she will serve a three-year term.
The appointment adds a board member to Pennsylvania’s gambling regulator for a three-year term.

Pennsylvania’s Gaming Control Board reported an 18% increase in voluntary gambling self-exclusions in the past fiscal year. More than 30,000 people are now excluded from one or more forms of gambling, according to its annual report.

The request covered records from 15 July 2021 through 18 August 2026 and specified conduct including bots, collusion and multi-accounting.
